DC cautions teachers against absenteeism

PASIGHAT, Dec 5: East Siang Deputy Commissioner Isha Khosla cautioned the teachers against absenteeism within the district.

The DC, who along with DDSE Obuk Panor and IE Coordinator SC Sharma made an unannounced visit to IGJ HS, Gandhi Secondary and Sawmill UP schools here today, found unauthorized absence of teachers from school while few teachers were found putting their arrival and departure signature in the first hour.

Stressing the need for adopting policy of zero tolerance for absentee teachers, the Deputy Commissioner cautioned that stern action would be initiated against absentee teachers. The teachers should discharge their duty sincerely as a member of a noble profession; she said and advised them to dedicate themselves for the betterment of the students.

She instructed the principal and headmasters to ensure smooth functioning of schools so that all students regularly attend classes and progressing well in their studies.

Giving some educational tips to the students, the DC advised them to be punctual, disciplined and attentive in studies. DIPRO

Taga criticized

ITANAGAR, Dec 5: The Siang district unit of Adi Baane Kebang has condemned the leader of opposition Tamiyo Taga for not attending the inaugural event of Siang district.

In a release, it said that the absence has reflected his deliberate attitude of discarding the developmental activities of the district.

NHM association threaten pen down strike

ITANAGAR, Dec 5: The Arunachal Pradesh NHM Employees Association has threatened to go for pen down strike if their pending salary is not released by Dec 10 next.

Informing this in its representation to the health minister, the association said that they are struggling to meet their demands due to delay in the payment of their four month’s salary.

The Association said that it had deferred its earlier planned pen down strike after it was assured by the Mission Director NHM of releasing the salary in the month of October.

DFP organizes health awareness campaign

ITANAGAR, Dec 5: The Directorate of Field Publicity (DFP), Ziro unit in close coordination with local health department organized its second phase awareness campaign on mother and child’s health and Mission Indradhanush at Hong village in Lower Subansiri district today. A rally was taken out as part of the campaign wherein around 300 village women, including the ASHAs and Anganwadi workers took part, according to a DFP release.

On culmination of the rally at Honoko Community Hall, Hong, Dr. D Likar, DFWO, Ziro explained in details about Janani Sishu Suraksha Kariyakram (JSSK), Janani Suraksha Yogana (JSY), Rastra Bal Suraksha Kariyakram and the importance of breast feeding.

‘Love alone can win hearts’

ITANAGAR, Dec 5: “Love not guns alone can win hearts”, said Arunachal Pradesh Rubber Board chairman Likha Maj while addressing the 23rd annual conference of Nocte Baptist Christian Association (NBCA), Khonsa today.

Expressing deep concern over the situation in the insurgency-hit district, he said that extortion through muscle power and fighting on the basis of caste, creed, religion and political would never bring peace, harmony and prosperity in the society. It could be achieved through love, which symbolizes the god.

The reverends have a crucial role to motivate the masses to refrain from hatred and spread the wave of love for each other for harmonious living in the society.

Addressing more than 5,000 delegates, Maj exhorted them to stand united to accelerate all-round development. He highlighted the huge agri-horti potentials of the area and the priority attached by the present Nabam Tuki-led GoAP to facilitate them to enrich rural economy. The GoAP has also initiated many schemes for the welfare of the masses, he added.

He donated Rs 10 lakh to NBCA for building a prayer centre in Nocte belt.

ATI training for ToT ends

ITANAGAR, Dec 5: The week-long training of trainers (ToT) on incident response system (IRS) for district administrative officers and disaster management officers ended at Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Naharlagun today.

The ToT programme was planned with the aim to mainstream and implement the IRS notified last year to respond any disaster in a planned manner so that the impact of disaster can be reduced using optimum resources, informed Additional Secretary (DM) YW Ringu.

The 59 Master Trainers, who have undergone the training, will train the district Incident Response Teams and ensure adoption and implementation of IRS in every administrative set up in all the districts.

Col (Rtd).PK Patnak, Consultant and Head Of Response Division, National Institute of Disaster Management, GOI, New Delhi, Col (Rtd) V N Supanekar, Director Center of Disaster Management, YASHADA, Govt. of Maharashtra, Pune, were the resource persons drawn from outside the state for the training.

Students sensitised on HIV/AIDS

KHONSA, Dec 5: A sensitisation programme on HIV/AIDS was organised today by the district administration, departments of Health and Family Welfare and Education at Government HS School, Khonsa.

Speaking on the occasion, MD, Dr. Roto Robo explained the participants on the various facets of HIV/AIDS through a presentation. He asked the young people to value their lives and to take all precautionary measures.

Earlier, DMO, Dr. N Lowang urged the students to take the awareness programme seriously and utilize the knowledge acquired during the programme in practical life. MO, Dr. T. Taggu demonstrated the correct technique of using a condom during the awareness programme.

Training for frontline Govt. functionaries, PR members at Gusar

DAPORIJO, Dec 5: A village level training programme for capacity building of frontline government functionaries, PRI members, youth and NGOs in poverty reduction exercises for Gusar circle on cluster basis ITP was held at Govt. Secondary School, Lida, Upper Subansiri on Dec 4.

Speaking in the inaugural session, Dumporijo ADC, Otem Jamoh called on the participants to take full advantage of the training programme by highlighting the major sectors under various schemes. The ADC said that the projects of the state government should be implemented through Gram Sabhas in every village.

Member Secretary, Gusar Circle, Kali Bayor appealed for full cooperation and participation of all and requested PRI members to ensure quality of life in rural areas and to achieve an inclusive growth in Gram Panchayats.

Master Trainer (MT) cum- Dist. Training Coordinator, ITP Project, Tamar Baki briefed on the major objectives of the programme including important issues and various aspects, scope to be covered which includes issues and importance of Planning Process, various state flagship programmes like Chief Minister Universal Health Insurance Scheme, Chief Minister Pariyatan Vikas Yojna, Chief Minister Skill Development Programme, Chief Minster Agri-Mechanism Programme, Vidya Scheme, Chief Minister Disability Pension Scheme, CMLMS, CMGLLS, role and responsible of Panchayati Raj Institute (PRI), managerial skills in leadership, motivation and team building at workplace and procedure of developmental schemes in the identified core sectors under ITP project etc.

Various convergence programme of CSS programme including “My Village My Development Programme” under RGPSA etc were also detailed for the participants.

9th North East Tamchon Football Tournament

ASUD Todo FC reach quarterfinal

ITANAGAR, Dec 5: ASUD Todo FC have topped in Group C in the 9th North East Tamchon Football Tournament and reached the quarterfinal.

The team will meet Manipur’s Chandel FC at Ambedkar Stadium New Delhi for a place in the semifinal.

Panye Raju is one of the leading scorers in the tournament with four goals to his name so far.

Fire devours 14 houses at Doji Jeko village

Relief provided to fire victims

AALO, Dec 5: Fourteen houses were completely gutted in a devastating fire that broke out at Doji Jeko village on Friday night.

However, due to timely arrival of Fire Brigades from Basar, Aalo and ITBP, the fire was brought under control from further spreading.

Huge numbers of properties were reported to be lost in the fire.

Parliamentary Secretary Techi Kaso, Upper Subansiri ZPC Susil Nalo and Siyum ZPM Tamar Ekke who were passing through the village on that fateful night, expressed their shock and consoled the victims.

Kaso handed over Rs. 1, 00,000 as a relief to the fire victims.

The District Administration also distributed immediate relief of Rs. 4000 each to the fire victims through circle officer, who is monitoring the accident on behalf of district administration.

The affected fire victims are identified as Dore Karcho, Getum Karcho, Roi Karcho, Pengum Karcho, Goto Karcho, Imar Siram, Ragi Karcho, Nyato Karcho, Domin Karcho, Kemik Karcho, Dagge Karcho, Dujum Karcho, Tumke Karcho and Tumi Karcho. DIPRO

Minor student sexually harassed

by teacher at Jerigaon

ITANAGAR, Dec 5: A minor student of class VIII was reportedly sexually harassed by her Head Master In-charge at Govt. ME School Jerigaon under Nafra Circle of West Kameng district. Sources informed this daily this evening that incident came to light when victim disclosed it to her family on November 27 last, later family brought the matter to Panchayat members and sought their help.

It is said that sexual harassment incident occurred on November 11 evening in the hostel. Agitated family members lodged FIR with Nafra Police Station on December 2, however police arrested the accused identified as Subash Chandra Mishra (33) after two days and the accused got bail today. The family members alleged that police is trying to protect the accused by registering the case in normal section.

When contacted, SP Bomdila confirmed that accused has been released today by the court. However, SP did not comment on whether the accused was registered under non-bailable section or not.

Expressing shock over the incident, the Sartang Elite Society today strongly condemned it and urged the police authority to carry out proper investigation into the incident. In a statement, SES President stated that the incident would send wrong signal and stringent punishment should be given to accused.

Daadi district demanded

ITANAGAR, Dec 5: The All Kurung Kumey District Students’ Union (AKKSDU) and All Kra Daadi District Students’ Union (AKDDSU) have demanded immediate posting of HoDS of various departments in newly created Kra Daadi district.

In a jointly convened press conference held at the Press Club here today, AKKDSU President Bengia Anthony informed that both Unions have also submitted a representation to the state Chief Secretary in this regard and have served a 15 days ultimatum to fulfill their demands.

Bengia said that even after the bifurcation of Kra Daadi from Kurung Kumey district almost every HoD of Kurung Kumey district are holding dual charges of both the parent district and Kra Daadi. This trend of the officers holding dual charges only gives rise to corruption and cause inordinate delay in development process, he claimed adding that the most of the officials remain absent from their posts causing much hardship to the people of the area. The government should create posts for the new district to ensure better administration instead of giving dual charges to a single officer encouraging corruption, he added.

In Kra Daadi a Circle Officer is often given the charge of administering two circles or more and surprisingly, most of the times LDCs and UDCs are found holding the charge of CO in the absence of the officer hampering official work, claimed AKDDSU President, Gora Rikam Bai adding that almost all the HoDs in the district are holding dual charges. While expressing concern over the poor infrastructural development in newly created Kra Daadi district, AKKDSU General Secretary, Phassang Raish said that the district needs more developmental projects and therefore it is imperative that the state government posts new officers for proper functioning of all departments and to augment the development process.

Natung bats for good hospitality

to attract more tourists

SEPPA, Dec 5: Highlighting the importance of promoting tourism and tourist inflow in East Kameng district, Parliamentary Secretary cum local MLA Mama Natung on Friday appealed to the people to have good behavior and welcoming nature towards any tourist be it foreign and domestic tourist. He was addressing a public gathering at Seba village under Pijerang circle of East Kameng district after inaugurating a Bailey bridge over Papu River constructed by Sussi Infra Pvt Ltd in presence of Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kumar Singh and Krishna Paradeshi Project Head of Sushee Pvt ltd.

The said bridge was collapsed in March 29, 2014, after sub-contract company ARTHA’s overloaded machinery plied on weak bridge. The Sushee Pvt Ltd. later took over the matter and entered agreement with the local MLA and youth of Seba village, agreeing to build new Bailey bridge over it. Local MLA said that he wants to see ‘changed East Kameng” in term of its bad image and development. “People have a wrong perception on our district; we must prove them, they are wrong” added Natung while urging people for improvement in their hospitality services towards tourists. Later, Parliamentary Secretary and DC also inaugurated way-side amenity building at Seba village constructed by Tourism department. He also informed that the state government has approved extension of Sagalee-Doimukh tourist circuit to Seppa, Bameng and Chayangtajo.

On importance of road connectivity, Natung urged the people of the district to cooperate with executing agency of 311 Km Nechipu-Hoj Road under TAH project which passes through Papu Valley; it has a deadline to complete by 2017. Natung also suggested the villagers to start focusing on Horticulture and Agriculture sectors to make themselves self-reliant.

In his address, Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kumar Singh has assured the villagers to send head of departments such as Horticulture, Agriculture, Fisheries, WRD etc. to conduct programme in the valley to sensitize the villagers on various projects and schemes undertaken by said departments. He also appealed villagers to discourage the elements who are creating hurdle in Trans-Arunachal Highway works stating the early completion of dream project would bring enormous development to the district.

Responding to representation of Baja Natung of Seba village over re-demarcation of Pakhui Tiger Reserve, DC assured to write to authority informing the villagers’ concern. The villagers claimed that some of their ancestors’ cultivation land have fallen into the Pakhui Tiger Reserve.

Seeking cooperation from people in hassle-free execution of TAH, East Kameng Social Welfare and Cultural Organisation (EKSWCO) Chairman Khya Safar Pao stated that EKSWCO will not tolerate any individual tries to obstruct ongoing TAH. He appealed the people to resolve any issue related to TAH, instead of going to court stating that it unnecessarily delay the project implementation.

The various head of departments who have accompanied the local MLA and DC, highlighted the schemes and projects undertaken by them and urged the people to avail benefit. DDSE, Kata Rangmo urged the SMC members including PRI to be vigilant on absenteeism of teachers, however, he also asked them to cooperate with teachers in running the school smoothly.

AALO, Dec 5: Festival and festivities are integral part of life and it binds all strata of people to march towards universal brotherhood, peace and prosperity, said Parliamentary Secretary (Land Records and Urban Development) Techi Kaso.

Festival manifests our rich cultural values handed down to us by our forefathers, and we should take pride in it, Kaso said while addressing the Podi Barbi Festival celebration at Gumin Kiin here today.

Replying one-point memorandum submitted on the occasion by the Podi Barbi Festival Committee for construction of a multi-storey community Hall at Aalo town, Kaso suggested the committee members to come to Itanagar to work out possible ways and means for materialization of their demand.

The Parliamentary Secretary disclosed that present govt. is starting Cement Concrete (CC) pavement road which is durable with a 30 years life expectancy, if constructed properly. At Mechukha, the‘Podi-Barbi’one of the major annual agricultural festivals of the Adi community was celebrated with traditional fervour and gaiety at SIB Ground, Mechukha.

While attending the festival, Takar Mosu, president Tagin Welfare Society of West Siang unit urged upon the people, specially Adi community to preserve their age-old customs and tradition irrespective of which faith they follow.

Further while wishing the people on the auspicious occasion of Podi-Barbi, Mosu also stressed on communal harmony and unity for over all development of the area.

The day-long celebration include traditional and modern cultural programmes presentation by various cultural groups of the community.

‘Podi-Barbi’ was also celebrated in a befitting manner at Rapum village, one of the most prominent Adi villages under Mechukha sub-division.

Union minister assures assistance for state’s industrial development

ITANAGAR, Dec 5: Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Kalraj Mishra has assured all assistance towards industrial development of Arunachal Pradesh. The minister gave this assurance when Governor of Arunachal Pradesh J P Rajkhowa, who is on an official tour to the National Capital, called on him at New Delhi today.

On request of the Governor, the Union Minister agreed to visit Arunachal Pradesh soon and also instructed the Managing Director, NSIC to visit Itanagar immediately with his team of officials. Accordingly, the NSIC Managing Director will visit Arunachal Pradesh on December 16 and discuss with the Governor, State Minister, Chief Secretary and others concerned on prospect of rapid industrial development. The Minister further assured the Governor of extending necessary support under the Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).

Earlier, Governor impressed upon the minister for harnessing the tribal expertise of the state in handloom, handicrafts and textiles sector and the vast potential in horticulture sector through Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Highlighting the potentials in these sectors, he said that the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector will emerge as a highly vibrant and dynamic sector in the state, if proper guidance and assistance both through finance and technology is provided by the Central Government. Sharing his experiences of his tours to the industrial outlets in different parts of the State, the Governor, requested the Union Minister to depute experts under his Ministry to visit Arunachal Pradesh and to hold discussion with the concerned agencies for preparing a road map to the industrial potential of our state in order to provide the youth training and opportunities on employment as well as self-employment by setting up Micro and Small Industries in particular.

The Minister agreed to depute the Managing Director and other officials of NSIC to visit Itanagar immediately and to prepare the road map on starting “Incubation Centres” for hands on vocational training at district head quarters. The State Government would be required to provide buildings for the purpose.

The Governor also emphasised on more focus on setting up Khadi & Village Industries in Arunachal Pradesh. He suggested the Union Minister for KVIC centre in every district, with centres in Itanagar, Pasighat and Ziro to start with. (PRO to Governor)

Soil cards distributed to mark the World Soil Health Day

ITANAGAR, Dec 5: The World Soil Health Day was observed with distribution of Soil health cards to the farmers in various districts of the state today.

A total of 277 farmers from 10 villages under Hayuliang and Metengliang circles were provided Soil Health cards in a function organised by KVK Anjaw on the occasion of International Year of Soil, 2015 and World Soil Health Day at Community Hall, Hayuliang.

Appreciating the efforts of KVK Anjaw, Hayuliang, ADC, B Towsik urged the participating farmers to make good use of the Soil Heath Card in order to excel in crop production in the district and self-sufficiency in food security. ASM chairperson (Metengliang), C. Tindya, called on the farmers to know the importance of Soil Health Card and its applicability in field level to improve land use system for higher production of agriculture and allied produce.

SMS (Agronomy), Khoisnam Naveen, spoke on the importance of Soil Health Card and its uses in agricultural production. He further informed the farmers on how to take the soil sample for future analysis as retesting of soil will be done at every three years interval to update the current soil status.

Horticulture Development Officer, T T Hai also spoke on the importance of Soil Health Card to know the soil status of cultivable area in order to apply fertilizers and other manures in right proportion at optimum level. He explained that some diseases of agricultural crops are directly linked with the soil nutrient of cultivable land as a result the production and productivity of crop is affected.

Earlier, Senior Scientist cum Head, KVK Anjaw, Dr. Manish Kanwat addressed the gathering which was attended, among others, by Fisheries Officer, K Tamang and representatives from other line departments.

At Roing, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Lower Dibang Valley District observed the World Soil Health Day in collaboration with Agriculture department.

Innovative and organic farmer from Yibuk village, Jatan Pulu addressing the function urged the farmers to go for crops cultivation based on soil tests and also encouraged farmers to take up organic farming through recycling farm waste. He also shared his practical experiences about organic farming done with modest financial investment.

Participating in the celebration, District Agriculture Officer, M. Lego briefed on the importance of maintaining good soil health, soil sample collection and analysis and urged the farmers to make use of the services of scientists of KVK to take up scientific farming in the district.

Senior Scientist and Head, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dr. T J Ramesha highlighted on the importance of soil in agriculture, composition of soil and its ill effect due to degradation of soil, Jhum cultivation and bad agricultural practices. He also spoke on the history of World Soil Day and its importance to farming communities.

Agriculture Development Officer, Roing, R D Singh and Agriculture Field Assistant, Dey and KVK scientists provided solution for various problems to the participating farmers. Subject Matter Specialist (Fisheries), Jimmy Mize and Subject Matter Specialist (Horticulture) V K Pandey also gave some tips to the farmers.

A total of 41 farmers and rural youths from different villages near Roing actively participated in the programme.

At Tawang, the World Soil Health Day was observed in Khinmey village with distribution of Soil Health Cards to the farmers. KVK Scientists imparted knowledge to the farmers about importance of soil health, testing of soil to know the nutrient status for sustainable agricultural production and for increasing farm production. A farmers- scientist interaction was also held and farmers dwelt at length about healthy soil for good production.

At Namsai, the World Soil Health Day was organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Lohit.

KVK head incharge, Dr. D Sasmal spoke on soil and water testing for good produce, farmers-scientist interaction to eradicate the plant health problems, need based demonstration on diseases and pests.

Chongkham ADO, G Singh called on the farmers for active cooperation and to interact with the scientists in the programme and also emphasised to bring the soil samples to the KVK.

In the technical session, SMS, Ph. Chandramani Singh explained about procedure of soil collection and soil status, about the insect pests and diseases of different horticulture crops.

Soil Health Cards were distributed later in the programme and pesticides were distributed to the farmers as per their pests and disease problem under demonstration.

ASMs, GBs and 53 farmers of Alubari, Naputia, Nepalibasti villages actively took part in the programme.

At Pasighat, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) East Siang and College of Horticulture & Forestry (CHF), Central Agricultural University, Pasighat organised World Soil Health Day in which Soil Health Card were distributed and farmers-scientists interaction on Soil Health Management was conducted.

Addressing the function, Zila Parishad, Chairperson, Kaling Dai emphasised on the need of soil testing, soil health management, importance of Integrated Nutrient Management for increasing the production and productivity of crops in the district. Dai called on the KVK scientists and faculties of CHF to concentrate on organic based farmer-friendly technologies.

Earlier, CHF Dean, Dr. B.R. Phukan emphasised on importance and management of soil and use of improved seeds and proven technologies for improving the socio-economic condition of the farmers.

HOD NRM, Dr. P. Debnath spoke on importance of Soil testing and Nutrient Management for Sustainable production.

During the farmers-scientist interaction programme, Jakut Modi, a progressive farmer of the district highlighted the scenario of nutrient management by the farmers of the district and also urged the gathering to adopt integrated nutrient management approaches for higher crop production. Furthermore, progressive farmers also interacted with the scientists and faculties of KVK and CHF and expressed their views on soil health management.

Altogether 200 progressive farmers from Mebo, Pasighat, Ruksin, and Nari blocks of the district participated in the programme.

BJP unit demands for high-level enquiry

ITANAGAR, Dec 5: The Upper Subansiri District Unit, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) claimed that there is a massive misappropriation under Backward Regions Grant Fund (BRGF) under Upper Subansiri district. In a letter written to Chief Secretary recently, the BJP Unit demanded for setting up of high level independent enquiry committee claiming that there is huge embezzlement of fund. The BJP unit informed that the non-official members of District Level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee (DLVMC) had inspected and conducted field verification and assessment in which it found misappropriation of fund under BRGF scheme with bogus bills and fraudulent payment. The DLVMC non-official members were nominated by the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju in September 2014 for effectively monitoring the implementation of schemes and programe under Ministry of Rural Development.

The BJP unit added that the ministry of Panchayat Raj had released Rs 15.35 crores out of which 13.74 crores as STSP Sub-Component for physical work under Upper Subansiri District, which was to be distributed to PRI: 20 % to ZPM, 30% to Anchal Samity and 50 % Gram Panchayat level through action plan for implementation of schemes. It further alleged that concerned officers and authority has deducted 10 percent each from the total share of PRI leaders thus deprived of their share provided by the Ministry due to fraudulent activity. It claimed that out of Rs 3.85 crores, Rs 312 lakhs have been misappropriated at ZPM and ASM level.

(DLVMC) Members also claimed that under Grant-in-Aid to Zilla Chairperson amounting Rs 1.95 crore was sanctioned. Out of this mentioned amount Rs 1.63 was paid for booking of CGI sheets under Rural House and remaining amount Rs 32 lakhs was paid for land development, however, neither physical procurement nor any land development was found during the inspection, the members add. The members further blamed the authority including District Panchayat Development Officer (DPDO) for allegedly failing to ensure proper physical achievement and monitor the schemes. It also resented that DC Upper Subansiri has paid no heed towards their report despite repeated representations.

Tado says he is very much concerned about dev. of his constituency

ITANAGAR, Dec 5: Tali MLA Markio Tado stated that he was very much concerned about the development of newly created Kra Daadi district and his constituency.

Replying to the concern raised by All Kra Daadi District Students Union (AKKDSU) that his long absence had adversely affected the development of his constituency, Tado in a press statement claimed that all the ongoing developmental projects including road connectivity works were under construction at this point of time by the implementing agency.

“Being the people’s representative, I am in constant touch with the implementing agencies and the people of my constituency for the issues of area,” he said.

Admitting that the district requires many more infrastructures, which are yet to be created, the MLA said that fund is needed for taking up new developmental projects and schemes. But, for the last two years, there has been no new scheme taken up by the Tuki government. The present leadership is gripped by financial mismanagement and crisis due to which it is unable to take smooth developmental activities from time to time, the MLA said.

“And this is for very reason I am camping at New Delhi for change in leadership, so that our state will not suffer financial crisis and lack of developmental activities for the greater interest of people of the state,” the MLA said.

Tado alleged that there has been massive financial mismanagement by the present state government that has led to deprivation of developmental activities not only in his constituency, but whole of the state.

“What we have witnessed as a minister, parliamentary secretaries, MLAs and as chairman in the Tuki led government since last four years is that the state is running through financial crisis after Tuki took over as chief minister and finance minister.

The financial position of the state is deteriorating, declining and has plunged downward during the reign of Tuki. During his reign as finance and planning minister, the state severely faced overdraft successively for the last two financial years.

As a result, the state govt is running two years of financial backlog and deficit. The central sponsored schemes (CSS) of 2013-14 and 2014-15, and other flagship programme projects of government of India are still pending for payment and execution of the projects—despite release of funds from the centre,” he alleged.

Teachers, parents urged to help differently abled children to develop inherent talent

ITANAGAR, Dec 5: Longding SSA Zilla Mission DPC, Rigio Tapi said that education plays an important role in eradicating the social stigma related to disability and appealed especially, the teaching community and parents to help children with disabilities to develop their inherent talents.

He said this while addressing a function organized on the occasion of World Disabled Day at Longding under IED intervention, SSA Zilla Mission on Thursday.

Urging the differently-abled children to improve and evolve the process of learning to become skilled and self-reliant, Tapi further advised the teachers not to discriminate any students based on disability rather enhance them to develop their potential.

DAEO Rade Gapak also spoke on the occasion while, EAC A Padung distributed aids and appliances to the disabled children.

Earlier, a rally was also organized in which large number of students took part to mark the day.

Training held on Mid-altitude fish farming practices

ITANAGAR, Dec 5: A five days training cum demonstration programme on “Techniques for fish farming in Mid-Altitude fish pond” concluded at Chug village, Dirang, West Kameng today.

Addressing the inaugural function, Deputy Director, Regional Sheep Breeding Farm, Dr. H Tama called on the farmers to undertake fisheries and animal husbandry for livelihood.

Sharing her views on the success of such programmes Block Chairperson (Dirang), Lanjom asked the farmers present in the programme not to depend entirely on govt. schemes and subsidies and to believe in hard work for self sustainability.

The ICAR-Directorate of Coldwater Fisheries Research, Bhimtal, Uttarakhand in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dirang had organised the training under the aegis of National Fisheries Development Board, GoI, Hyderabad with an objective to uplift the socio-economic conditions of rural fish farmers and young entrepreneurs. Altogether, 25 farmers of Chug and Donglok villages participated in the programme.

The training included skill development in Chinese carp farming, feed, health, soil and water quality management, integrated fish farming, hatchery and nursery management etc. Field visits were made in the farmers’ field for the practical demonstration on estimation of water quality parameters and soil quality analysis.

ICAR-DCFR under NEH activity along with KVK West Kameng also distributed critical inputs in the form of carp seeds and netting materials to the selected beneficiaries of the region to undertake aquaculture on commercial lines.

3rd State level Veteran Football Cup 2015

Tata, Kra-Daadi and Kurung Kumey Veteran register wins

ITANAGAR, Dec 5: Tata Company FC, Kra-Daadi and Kurung Kumey Veteran registered wins on the fourth day of the 3rd State level Veteran Football Cup 2015 at RGU Stadium today.

Tata Company FC demolished Emchi Veteran by 6-0, Kra-Dadi edged past NUFC 1-0 while Kurung Kumey Veteran defeated Doimukh Veteran Warriors 3-1.

Tata Com FC completely dominated the game from beginning and scored at will. The scorers for TCFC were Toko Joseph (30 & 72nd mins),Taring Tini (35th min), Dolang Gangte (49th min) and Charu Raja (69th min).

Kra-Daadi Veteran edged past NUFC by solitary goal in a keenly contested match scored by Khyoda Apik in the 36th minute. In second half NUFC dominated most of the play but failed to convert their chances.

Kurung Kumey registered their second consecutive win by defeating Doimukh Veteran Warriors by 3-1 goal in the last match of the day. Tarh Ekha (16th min), Tassar Lucky (28th min) and Tarh Lugu (57th min) were the scorer for KK. The consolation goal for DVW was scored by Gyammar Pitey (64th min.)

Meanwhile Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh Women Football informed that 21 players were selected to represent Arunachal Pradesh in the Senior National Football Championship 2015 to held at Kokrajhar, Assam from December 18 to 23.

The selected players are Techi Jirmin, Bamang Ana, Achom Degio, Hura Sumpi, Pill Yacha, Milling Sangyu, Techi Amin, Tamchi Yapi, Nabam Kamyi, Tako Baby, Tadar Yami, Rumi Sanghi, Rosni Ramching, Bengia Mercy, Ha Yapa, Techi Yana, Nangbia Penu, Nabam Anima, Dur Yach, Taw Anu, Achu Mikhu.
